Social Studies of Development and Population

Social Studies of Development and Population is an open-access academic journal that encourages researchers to engage in social science research. It provides a publication platform for rigorous research outputs as well as exploratory studies.

The journal primarily accepts original research articles. Review articles, book reviews, and case studies are also considered; however, such submissions are subject to a more rigorous and comprehensive peer-review process. Each published article is assigned an individual DOI. Authors are required to submit necessary supporting documentation, such as research information disclosure statements.

Editorial decisions are made with care and responsibility. All research articles that fall within the journal’s scope are subject to double-blind peer review. During this process, authors will receive detailed feedback and concrete revision suggestions.

At the submission stage, initial manuscripts may be written in either Chinese or English. However, only accurately translated English versions are accepted for publication.

For research focusing on social change, development, urban–rural relations, migration, public health, education, or community development, this journal may serve as an appropriate venue.

After publication, articles are indexed by Google Scholar and registered with Crossref DOI. Metadata may also be included in academic databases such as Scilit, and the journal continues to expand additional indexing and dissemination channels.

The journal firmly opposes predatory publishing practices. Fee waivers or reductions may be granted upon request or for manuscripts of high academic quality. Fee policies are fully independent of the peer-review process and editorial decisions.

Building the Babel with Knowledge

Our vision is rooted in the challenges faced by students, whose academic publishes are often difficult and prohibitively expensive. Many students struggle to publish their work, which, though perhaps not fully developed, represents significant effort and dedication. While these studies may have limited impact on advancing their fields, they are crucial for the personal and academic growth of the students involved.
